Advent 7087 Laptop computer - Upgraded spec. -

This is an advert for a Advent 7087 laptop. Full specifications of it are available on the internet. I upgraded two things: I have taken one of the 256mb or ram sticks out and replaced it with 1GB, so it has a total of just over 1.2GB of ram which makes a considerable difference to performance. Also, the standard draw cd drive was forever freezing up, and if you do some research you will see it is a common problem and is something to do with the bios settings. I have got annoyed with this and so replaced it with a new (2 years ago) sony full dvd re writer unit. This is slot load rather than the draw, and has a black frame around it, but takes any issues it previously had away, and is a good little drive. As it is a modification, like with half of computers, you need to use windows to eject the cd rather than the button. I have formatted the hard drive and re-installed windows. This has been activated also, so its a blank canvas waiting for a new owner. Rough specifications: 1.5GHz AMD celeron processor. sony upgraded dvd rewriter 1.2GB RAM 40GB HDD Windows XP Home 4 USB 2.0 Ports I have had this laptop for 6 years, and am only upgrading as i need something a bit faster as i am studying a diploma course. It is in complete working order. Good used condition, with a few small marks around the back small panel where the vents are, and slight shiny marks on some of the keys. It has been cleaned with a duster and is ready to take. The battery holds between three quaters of an hour and an hour without charger lead, and this is with realistic use!
